– 6 weeks to 16 months old –
our program
Our infant classroom is for our YOUNGEST learners at Messiah Early Learning Center & Preschool! Starting at just 6 weeks old to 16 months, we believe that babies develop best on their own schedules. Our infant curriculum is designed to meet each infant’s individual needs. Our dedicated and professional staff are trained at providing your baby a loving, nurturing, Jesus-filled environment every single day. Communication between family and staff is a key component to the success of every child’s day. Staff will provide parents will daily written communication about their child’s schedules, napping, feeding and well-being. Families will also be updated throughout the day with pictures and notes via our parent-teacher communicator app Brightwheel.
Infants will participate in daily curriculum that will include story time, large and fine motor activities, tummy time, sign language, sensory activities, JAM (Jesus & Me) time, as well as music time.

– What’s best for your infant –
the daily schedule
We follow the schedule that your family uses at home for your infant, along with their daily needs for sleep and feeding. As children grow older, they begin to follow a more structured class schedule, including regular napping and developmental milestones such as baby-led weaning (feeding).
Per DHS regulations we check every child’s diaper every two hours, unless they have already had a soiled diaper on their own between checks. Staff will work with parents in developing the best schedule and routines for their child while they are in the Little Sheep classroom.
– Meeting the needs of all children –
hands-on learning
Every day is a NEW day of growing and learning! The Little Sheep classroom is an exciting place to be. Watching the development of each child in their own unique ways is absolutely the best blessing. Our infant curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the children in our classroom between the ages of 0 and 16 months old. The primary focus for young infants is to develop a sense of security and bond with their caregivers, while exploring the world around them. Language development is happening at a rapid pace for all infants, which is why you’ll see our staff talking to students all throughout the day, labeling things, reading to them, talking to them about their surroundings, etc.
As infants grow, so do their needs. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all of our students. We introduce sign language in its basic forms to all our students, as well as sensory activities, large- and fine-motor activities. The key components of maternal-infant bonding are feelings of comfort and security, which ultimately lead to healthy psychological development.
