Families Moving Forward
In the spirit of Romans 12:13, Messiah Lutheran Mounds View is a participating congregation in Families Moving Forward. FMF is a ministry to homeless families to aid families caught in the quagmire of homelessness and help them return to permanent housing.
Twice a year Messiah hosts homeless families with safe overnight accommodations, an evening meal, evening activities, and breakfast. After breakfast, the families return to FMF for help with finding housing and employment, then return to Messiah every night for a week.
If you are interested in helping with our Spring and Fall weeks at Messiah, watch the Messiah website, check the bulletin and monthly newsletter for upcoming hosting weeks, or contact Aneita or Lee at 651-653-0863 or Faith at 763-571-8972. Each week Messiah hosts requires about 100 volunteers in a variety of roles. It is a short term commitment that provides lasting rewards for the volunteers. The next week we host is October 12-19, 2008.
