Culture Shock - A Small Group for Moms

 What: "Culture Shock - A Biblical Response to Today's most Diverse Issues" small group study by Chip Ingram 

 Who: Moms who want to join an existing small group

 When: Third Tuesday every month at 7pm, begin attending January 17th

 Where: Messiah Lutheran Church

 Why: Connecting with other Moms to discuss some challenging topics that we face in life and how to talk with our children about them. We look forward to sharing stories and life together so we can all lift each other up and be great Christian moms.

Men's Group Studying

The Truth Project

  What: The Truth Project Video Series by Dr. Del Tackett

 Who: Men’s group

 Topic: This is a deep, thought provoking 12 session video series presenting a biblical world view that explores the truths of God in all aspects of human existence.  Following each video presentation the group will discuss the topic for the week in more detail.  There will also be time for fellowship and prayer.

 When: First and third Saturday morning; 8:00am – 10:00am; January – June

 Where: Messiah Blue Room

 Why: The purpose is to provide the men of Messiah with a solid foundation of the truth of the Bible.  It is also a time of fellowship and to build one another up in faith.

Empty Nesters and

Parents of Teenagers

 What: A fellowship and support group for parents whose children are approaching adulthood

 Who: Couples who are empty nesters or parents of teenagers 

 When: Thursdays or Fridays (will decide as a group), 7-9pm, every other week, starting in January

 Where: Home in Shoreview

  The Devil, C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters & Angels 

 What: Small group fellowship with Bible study/book discussion about the devil, C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters, and angels

 Who: People interested in stimulating discussion and the dynamics of a small group

 When: Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings (we will decide as a group); January – May

 Where: Home in Arden Hills (near Northwestern and Bethel Colleges)

 Why: Because Jesus had a small group! And like the disciples, we'd eat together, talk together, learn together, and support each other.

Why I Believe 

Bible Study

 What: "Why I Believe" small group study by Chip Ingram

 Who: People interested in small group Bible study in northern Anoka County

 When: One Tuesday evening per month, starting in January

 Where: Home in East Bethel

 Why: All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.


Parents of Elementary and Middle Schoolers

 What: New parenting small group for parents of elementary and middle schoolers, based on the book Love and Logic

 Who: Come on your own or make it a date night with your spouse!  Give your family the gift of less stress in 2017! 

 When: Join us every other week for 6 sessions starting on Thursday, January 26 (7-8:30pm) 

 Where: Messiah Fireside room

 Why: Do you ever struggle with your kids and their screen time, chores, bedtime, or just general respect?  You are not alone!  Now there's a place where you can get (and give) ideas to help ease parenting challenges, and take home some strategies from the popular parenting book, Love and Logic.
